IN THIS ISSUE: News, Current Promotions, Tips & Tricks

Automatic transmissionAs most of you know, we are a AAA Approved Auto Repair shop. This program was developed in 1975 to assist the motoring public with locating quality repair shops. Our shop had to pass a very stringent review process before we could get the AAA seal.

We have been with AAA since 2006. With each invoice, we include a short survey card created by AAA. Customers complete these survey cards and mail them back to AAA headquarters for processing. AAA summarizes the results and keeps us updated on how we are doing with quarterly reports. Each time we get a new report, we post it on our homepage for everyone to see.

We are very proud to say that for the entire year of 2007 we scored 100% in all five of the main categories! We had a total of 183 survey cards returned for the year.

+ 100% were satisfied with the repair work done
+ 100% were satisfied with the estimate
+ 100% were satisfied with the personnel
+ 100% were satisfied that the car was ready when promised
+ 100% would return to the facility for future work

To see the entire report, click here: 2007 AAA Survey Card Results

Thank you again to all of our customers who sent in a survey card and made 2007 a great year for our company!

Remember to check out our new expanded automotive services.

Automatic transmission
Our Pennzoil Rewards Program is still going strong. Stop by today and get signed up! When you buy 3 oil changes using Pennzoil motor oil you will get a check from Pennzoil for up to $35 (made payable to Harrell & Beverly Transmissions) that can be used as payment towards your 4th oil change. We have two engine oil service options to better serve you. This offer ends 07/10/08.

The first is our Basic LOF (lube, oil and filter) for $35:
We perform an under hood and under vehicle inspection, drain engine oil and add  up to five quarts of Pennzoil oil, install new engine oil filter, lubricate the chassis (when applicable), clean any oil residue and perform final inspection. (Some vehicles require more expensive parts, additional parts and labor are extra).

The second is our Deluxe LOF (lube, oil and filter) for $65:
We road test your vehicle testing for operational performance. We perform a 40-point maintenance inspection (covering general maintenance items, lights, lubricant/fluids, battery, belts/pulley, hoses and tires). We perform an under vehicle inspection. We then drain the engine oil and add up to five quarts of Pennzoil oil, install new engine oil filter, lubricate the chassis (when applicable), clean any oil residue and perform the final inspection. (Some vehicles require more expensive parts, additional parts and labor are extra).

10 THINGS YOU SHOULD NOT DO WITH YOUR TRANSMISSION

Part 1 of 2

  1. Don’t Leave The Shift Lever In Park (P) Without The Parking Brake On
If another vehicle were to even tap yours in the front or back while parked it could cause a part inside your transmission (the parking pawl) to break leaving your vehicle to roll down the street unattended.

  2. Don’t Downshift To “Brake” At Traffic Lights
A forced downshift at high engine RPM causes excessive wear on transmission friction components (clutches and bands).

  3. Don’t Place Shift Lever in Drive or Rev when engine is at “Fast Idle”
This can cause abrupt transmission engagement leading to early failure of clutches, bands, gear sets, drive line components and engine or transmission mountings.

  4. Don’t Drag Race
Unless your vehicle was specifically designed for that purpose it cannot sustain that form of abuse. You run the risk of damaging all drive line components which can lead to some very expensive repair bills.

  5. Don’t Use Your Shift Lever Instead of Your Brake
Before reversing direction your car must be at a complete stop. Using the transmission to stop the vehicle will lead to premature transmission failure.

Our goal at Harrell & Beverly Transmissions is to give our customers the best information possible so they can make the best decisions possible.
